CAIRO – The U.S. Embassy in Cairo is proud to announce the award-winning American vocal music band The Beatbox House will visit Egypt as part of its 2024 world tour. The Beatbox House’s visit to Egypt – the only stop in the Middle East during the 2024 tour – will bring this uniquely American musical genre to three Egyptian cities: Luxor, Cairo, and Alexandria. The Beatbox House’s hip-hop style will combine with legendary Egyptian band Wust El-Balad for a performance in Cairo and musical powerhouse Sharmoofers for a performance in Alexandria. These fusion performances will combine the very best of American and Egyptian cultures.
In announcing this international musical experience, Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo Ruben Harutunian said, “The theme for The Beatbox House’s 2024 tour of Egypt is “Almazieka tegam3na” or ”Music Brings US Together.” Music provides a language that unites people of all backgrounds, and the musical collaborations created during this program will help celebrate the showcase the strong partnership between the United States and Egypt.”
The Beatbox House’s 2024 Egypt tour will begin on April 30 with a concert at the Misr Public Library in Luxor.
On May 1, The Beatbox House will showcase the raw energy of their beatboxing in Cairo at the American University of Cairo’s Tahrir Campus, joined by Egyptian music legends Wust El-Balad for a once-in-a-lifetime Egyptian-American musical experience. There will be free prizes for the first 1,000 registered ticket holders in Cairo! Tickets are free and open to the public.
On May 3, The Beatbox House will join the incredibly talented Sharmoofers at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport in Alexandria. This show will fuse American beatboxing with the unparalleled Egyptian pop traditions epitomized by Sharmoofers’ rich, melodic sound.

In addition to their major public performances, during their time in Egypt The Beatbox House will interact with diverse Egyptian audiences in the spirit of uniting communities and building bridges through music. The Beatbox House will perform for the visually-impaired community during a May 2 performance at the Bibliotheca Alexandria for a shared experience around sound and music accessible to all. The group will lead a children’s musical workshop in Cairo’s City of the Dead. The Beatbox House will also make their skills and experience available via a professional exchange and masterclass open to the more than 500 up-and-coming Egyptian artists, musicians, and singers/songwriters, who are alumni of U.S. government-funded musical programs.
