Nigeria: Listen to Logos Olori’s debut EP Olori

After a remarkable 2023, where he received a Grammy recognition for his contribution to Davido’s chart-topping hit ‘Unavailable’ featuring Musa Keys, Logos is keen to make more impact in the industry with Olori.

The seven-track progressive and experimental medley showcases Logos’ DIY spirit, serving as the sole writer and performer. Listeners are lured into his sonic universe with each track, a delightful experience filled with a mixture of lucid and dreamy synths meshed by Afropop nuances.

His melodies flow effortlessly, crafting a sincere narrative that mirrors the peaks and valleys of his recent years – a period marked by his departure from the familiar streets of Ajegunle, Lagos, to his sojourn in Dubai, only to return to Lagos and secure a pivotal signing under Davido’s DMW imprint. Notably, he was later featured on Davido’s Timeless album, marking a significant milestone in his musical journey.

Speaking about his debut project, Logos said: “Like water, life flows, ever-changing on a journey. Join me on this journey as we travel deep within ourselves while experiencing the bliss of the vibrations of every tone. From the drums of ‘Apapa’ to the sweet chords of ‘Olori’. Every song is an experience in itself. This is Logos Olori, the free.”

On Olori, each track unfolds like a page torn out of Logos’ personal diary, weaving diverse tales and showcasing profound personal growth. This attests to the artist’s ability to craft a sonic universe uniquely his own.

The EP commences with the title track ‘Olori’, where Logos bares his soul, the emotive strings intensifying the overwhelming desire for a significant other. ‘Easy On Me’, featuring Davido, sets the stage for a captivating nocturnal club atmosphere, seamlessly blending Logos’ distinctive sound with Davido’s style. Following this is the amapiano-infused ‘Push It’ and ‘My Darling’, where Logos delves into his expressive depths. ‘Apapa’ and ‘Hmm Hmm’ featuring Musa Keys, introduce a new dimension to the project, offering fresh and vibrant joints.

Born Olamilekan Emeka Taiwo, Logos was influenced by an eclectic range of artists including Michael Jackson, 2Baba, Skales and Wizkid.

He chose the name Logos because it has metaphysical and spiritual significance. It is derived from Greek and represents the creative force of the universe, making Logos a channel for that divine energy in music. This concept adds a deep and spiritual layer to his identity, reflecting his belief in the transformative power of creativity.
